Welcome to Chicago Metro History Day! 

Chicago Metro History Fair is now known as Chicago Metro History Day. Welcome to the 2022 contest season! Our spring competitions will be hybrid events, assuming public health conditions allow for safe events. Students and judges who are fully vaccinated may opt to participate in our in-person contests. Students who are unvaccinated, prefer virtual judging, or need an alternative to the in-person contest because they have tested positive or are a close contact can participate in our virtual History Day contest.

Virtual History Day (grades 6-12)
Students who prefer or require a virtual judging setting will be judged March 18-25. All project materials must be submitted by registration on March 3.

We are looking forward to sharing your work at the 2022 Chicago Metro History Day events. This page will be updated in late January.

(All judges should receive an email after registration prompting you to sign-up for the orientation time slot that works best for you.)

Health, safety, and a positive experience celebrating Chicago's young historians are our top priorities. While we remain very hopeful that we can offer a safe and fun in-person judging experience for vaccinated students and judges by March, we are prepared to switch to an all-virtual contest format if we cannot hold an on-site contest safely. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and flexibility during very dynamic contest planning circumstances.
