Chicago Metro History Day 2022 will be a HYBRID contest, assuming public health conditions allow for safe events. Students and judges who are fully vaccinated may opt to participate in our in-person contests. Students who are unvaccinated, prefer virtual judging, or need an alternative to the in-person contest because they have tested positive or are a close contact can participate in our virtual History Day contest. 

Junior Division History Day (grades 6-8)

Senior Division History Day (grades 9-12)
Wednesday, March 16, 2022

Virtual History Day (grades 6-12)
Students who prefer or require a virtual judging setting will be judged March 18-25. All project materials must be submitted by registration on March 3.

Exhibit students will bring their PHYSICAL (not digital) exhibit to the in-person contest. In-person entrants are encouraged to follow the same procedures as above for contest administrative purposes (e.g., special awards, coaching). However, they may elect to skip the exhibit template, as their judges will evaluate the project and required written materials that are presented on the contest day rather than the materials in zFairs. In-person students may revise their projects up to the contest day.
