All entries will be evaluated LIVE at our IN-PERSON regional competition. You may continue to revise your documentary and required written materials between registration and the regional contest. Judges will evaluate the version that is brought to the competition. Check your title for accuracy and capitalization to prevent errors in printed program materials.
REQUIRED WRITTEN MATERIALS (RWM)
Please combine your written materials into a single PDF file IN THIS ORDER:
- title page
- process paper
- annotated bibliography
Upload these materials in the Written Materials field below before the registration deadline.
DOCUMENTARY UPLOAD — OPTIONAL
You have the option of uploading a link to your video in your registration. This will not be used for judging; however, it may be used for administrative purposes (e.g., special awards) or project coaching. The link to the video should be housed on Google Drive, Dropbox, or a similar private file sharing service. [Do not put the video on YouTube due to copyright restrictions.] Make sure that the file sharing settings are set to "anyone with the link may view" or equivalent setting so that it can be viewed by the public.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE CONTEST
You will present your documentary live at the in-person contest. Bring three printed copies of your Required Written Materials and your video on a flash drive. You are responsible for making sure that your documentary can be viewed with Windows Media Player or VLC Player software. You will be given a presentation time at check-in. Please report to your presentation room a little early. When you are called into the room, hand your paperwork to your judges and load your documentary. When the judges signal that they are ready for you, show your film. Afterward, the judges will ask a few questions. If you are able to leave your flash drive with the judges afterward, that's helpful, but not required.
Group project: Only one member of your group needs to complete this step.
